I'm looking to purchase an (USB) adapter for WiDi/Miracast use. How can I (before purchase) determine if a WiFi adapter supports wireless display/Miracast? Miracast is built atop the Wi-Fi Direct. On the software side, Miracast is supported in Windows 8.1. Microsoft’s Wireless Display Adapter.

Hi, I have a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter that I'd like to use with the TVs in my house. However the Windows 10 machines in the house (a PC and 2 laptops) don't seem to support it Miracast. The laptops are ~7 years old so that makes sense and I don't think the Gigabyte WiFi card in the PC is up to it.
Does anyone know of a USB WiFi adapter that supports Miracast & works with the Microsoft adapter? Not interested in WiDi/screensharing but Miracast/Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter itself. This will let me run a TV and a second screen for the computer rather than mirroring content. I think USB is the answer because then any of the machines in the house can use the stick and broadcast to the TV. (Can't believe how little info and support there is about compatibility for this device online!) Thanks!
